A promising British business entity has expressed willingness to invest in mobile set production in Bangladesh as officials try to woo more foreign investments from the United Kingdom.

The Eurofoods Group, a Wales-based food distribution company which has several fish and food processing plants in Bangladesh, expressed interest in making more investment in Bangladesh, according to a message received in Dhaka on Saturday.
The company conveyed its willingness to Bangladesh high commissioner to the UK Nazmul Quaunine when he was visiting its factories in Newport, Gwent, Wales on Thursday.
The Bangladesh envoy immediately welcomed the proposal and assured them of providing a plot in Kalaikoir hi-tech park for their new venture, said a press release.
It added that the high commissioner requested other non-resident Bangladeshis to invest at home and grab opportunities offered by the present government.
According to the release, Bangladesh high commission in London has initiated a business promotion programme in the UK in order to reach out native British business and Bangladesh Diaspora. The programme includes: meeting business firms, visiting production sites and highlighting Bangladesh potentials and motivate them for investments.
The UK has strong business interests in Bangladesh and remains the 2nd largest foreign investor. It is also the third single largest destination for exports from Bangladesh.
According to a speech of British high commissioner to Bangladesh Alison Blake, the UK has made an investment of 322 million US dollars as of October 2016.
